Created during Martin Margiela’s tenure at the house, the dress brings normally hidden elements of construction to the surface, allowing exposed seams and loose threads to become part of its expression.
The contrast between the romantic floral print and its deliberately unfinished details blurs the boundary between finished and unfinished, inside and out.

Threads Left Behind
Loose threads fall from the raw hem, turning what would normally be concealed by finishing into a visible part of the design.

Delicate straps and exposed construction quietly reverse the conventional relationship between the inside and outside of a garment.

Layers of florals overlap and dissolve across the surface, becoming increasingly abstract the closer they are viewed.
